So I was on youtube earlier watching 1 of Alphaomegasin's videos and I must say I have no idea what the younger 'gamers' (for lack of better and/or appropriate term) are thinking. apparently it's a thing now for a dumb kid to, after losing in a match of COD, to track down the person who beat them's personal info and prank call the police in that persons hometown claiming to be them and saying that they are killing a bunch of people.
I just wanted to let people know.
ps. if this should go somewhere else I am sorry but as it pertains to video games I figured it would be fine here. I would attach the link to the video but it won't let me so if you want to hear it for yourself just check out the dude's channel.

Lol, does anyone but 12 year old kids even play COD these days? It seems like it's the lowest common denominator when it comes to the world of online gaming. I can hardly take people seriously when they tell me they play it. It seems to be about being abusive rather than anything else.

I know of a few people who play it still. I actually bought the newest one to give it one more chance but it failed miserably to me and yea.

Well, if I ever want to be yelled at, and be abused by a bunch of sexist immature kids I know which game to play. But until that time the only way I'd play COD is single-player campaign, which I've heard isn't that great in all the games.

as far as the two big military FPS's go CoD has a better solo campaign then Battlefield. but yea I tried playing MW3's campaign and it was not enjoyable. oh well. I'll just stick to BF4

They don't mess around with that kind of stuff and I think that's a good thing. Best to let somebody get a sharp lesson in internet manners before they start to think they can actually get away with that kind of crap.

Death and rape threats are common now. Some people even made a game once where you bashed a photo of a women up into a bruised and bloody pulp just because she spoke about about women's representation in gaming. There are a lot of issues in the gaming community. And a lot of the time they seem to be getting worse rather than better.

True, all the gamers I know personally, male and female are great people, it's just a shame that the violent and abusive crowd have such a loud voice that they are heard over everyone else.

Good grief! Don't they have mods to police the gaming communities or anything?
T'is good to know these things since my eldest is creeping closer to adolescence. Hearing stuff like this frankly scares the crap out of me. Internet safety is a big deal and something that people should be sure to teach their kids.
