Well, what do you guys think and why?
Edit by Liv on 5/5/2014: Spam posts will not count. If you take issue with this, please feel free to PM me and we can further discuss the matter.

Yes, because I doubt we would start making multiple consecutive random jibberish posts specifically to get higher post count, like I heard Anakin and Indiana did on TFF.

Yeah there's no reward system here for posts like their used to be on TFF, so I see it as harmless, but I wanted to get everyone's opinion before I made them count... so more people need to vote!

I think yes, for now. Not until we get more members, but perhaps until/if we get a reward system in place? It's been a long time since I played around in the UI of a Proboards forum so I'm not sure if they can be implemented. But it could be an idea to work on?

There are plugins for reward systems, but I haven't looked at them much. I installed three other plug ins today, but I thought I'd wait for rewards/til I had time to check out the systems that are available.

I don't really care that much, but although I'll certainly post a lot in the spam section I tend towards no. Only the more or less "meaningful" posts should count, in my opinion, but then again, I can live with both options.

i put no, since the spammers would leave me way behind

I also just caught myself looking at the member list and checking how many posts I have compared to the others. This has to stop as early as possible!

I don't think it matters to me either way. Spam is still time spent on the site getting to know people. If you don't want to particularly encourage spam however, you may want to exclude spam from the post count. lol

From some of your other posts around the forum, Liv, it seems as if you'd like to discourage too much spamming in favour of fostering some actual discussion. If that is the case, then you may want to make spam posts not count as a way of encouraging those who care about post counts to post in areas other than just spam. Well, that's my take anyways.

No, it shouldn't. I myself have the highest post count on TFF. I'm the only member who has TFF kingship... Because of spam. That shouldn't be lol... But it happened anyway. But to avoid it, let's avoid that mistake.

That's a good point, and my post count on TFF is like 16k behind you because spam posts don't count

Yeah you're a more active member here and on TFF, yet I have a higher post count. For now there haven't been really pointless posts I hope. But if a game like 'Men vs. Women' turned up you would notice a drastic change in post counts, because of a game involving the posting of meaningless numbers.
