This thread is about Game of Thrones' third season. Please keep this thread spoiler-free. If you want to discuss content from season 4, there's an extra thread for that.

Once again, this thread will contain spoilers for season 3. We have spoiler tags now, so if it's a huge season 3 spoiler, use them just in case What was everyone's favourite part of season three?

Would it be wrong to say... ...the Red Wedding? What I loved about it was that it was so shocking, and uncompromising. Normally, the main characters are somewhat sacred cows in a story, so you know that nothing truly bad will ever happen to them because they must survive and overcome all adversity and win and everything . Not so in Game of Thrones. I like that they've followed the books in that they haven't deviated from killing certain characters from the books because they're really popular in the show.

Ha ha ha! Good Lord, what did she ever do to you? Loving these crazy spoiler tags. They screw with the formatting in unexpected and delightful ways.

I'll tell you what she did to me. She put me through hours of insufferable whining, tormenting Jon Snow for no effing reason (sorry him being a bastard isn't his fault, you'd think the b**** would have figured that out after a few years), crying about literally everything, thinking she was the coolest and most awesome person this side of Westeros because she was married to Ned Stark who deserved better than her in the first place. Not to mention, she captured Tyrion, which to me, is literally the stupidest thing I've seen anyone do in those books. HAVE A BRAIN YOU STUPID TWIT. DID YOU REALLY THINK THE PERSON WHO TRIED TO KILL BRAN WOULD SEND SOMEONE WITH HIS OWN DAGGER HURR DURR. I could go on for pages.

Okay, here's a question for you Liv the Librarian... Given your intense dislike for Cat for all the things she had done and said towards certain other characters, do you think her end was a fitting one? Or is that still a way of departing this mortal cliche that you wouldn't wish on anyone? I would say no, but then I am a pathetic old softie.

You're definitely not pathetic. I just have a really intense sense of justice. I think people deserve to get what is coming to them, and when they don't, it really chaffs my bum. So, Yes, I do think that her ending was fitting. I WAS quite sad to see Robb go, though, honestly, he wasn't much smarter than his mother. I mean, seriously? Betraying an oath to WALDER EFFING FREY for a pretty face? Come on, your father was beheaded, your brother was shoved out of a window, your sister is missing, and your other is being physically abused and emotionally tormented in King's Landing. Now is not the time to be breaking oaths. But yes, back to the original point. I was elated to see cat get what was coming to her, and it was so much better in the books because she is so much more vile, useless, witless, and intolerable in the books. I'd read 1000 Cersei chapters before I'd want to read another Cat chapter. Though, the end of book three made me rage so hard I almost quit reading, but if we're going to discuss the books we should probably make threads for them in the books section so spoilers aren't revealed to show watchers (and I'm not done with book four yet).

Well, I haven't read any of the books, so I'm completely in the dark about how any of this is going to play out. I'm so pleased you didn't spoil anything for me! I think separate threads for the books is definitely a good idea. Then I'll know to avoid them for fear of spoilers! Ha ha! At this rate, all of our conversations will just be spoilers! Ha ha!

Lol, your post didn't really need to have a spoiler tag

That's what I was going to suggest before all these threads were even made. I was suggesting to keep this. But to have one thread where anything can be discussed. A thread for book readers, who watch the show to speculate what is coming and to discuss what changes were unnecessary, not liked etc.
