it is very difficult but the way they wanted people to enjoy it is getting that sense of accomplishment when you finally beat what keeps killing you. I think it's worth a try by anyone. Lord Yuan on TFF always says that the majority of the game is knowledge. once you figure out the enemies move sequence it gets a bit easier.

I actually just put a lasagna in the oven and I'm so excited to see how it turns out, never made it before! So, how did it turn out? I'm gonna make lasagna in a moment, it's some of the few dishes I cook frequently. Taliesin & midnattblod: I've been playing Dark Souls 2 almost entirely with a phantom (as usual, one who knows the game, who's like a personal walkthrough) and I haven't died half as often as in the first game. Most of my deaths are caused by my own stupidity. Anyway, due to the fact that I always play with a phantom by my side I'll never be able to brag about beating the game, because unlike others I always knew where to go and what to do.

It turned out fab! Made it with Quorn Mince and it tasted delicious! Will definitely be making it again! If you look up some of the reviews for the game, there are ones like "10/10 would die again" and that's so ridiculously accurate, because I would really enjoy watching someone attempt to make an IronMan character in this game. I think it's good because it makes you want to keep going, and keep trying, no matter how many times you die. That's gotta be my favorite quality about the game, is the way it makes you not care about dying (well, sometimes) and keep fighting.

i love how this has become a Dark Souls thread for the time being. I've tried to get someone to help me out where I am but there's never a summon sign in the right spot. when i did summon someone i couldn't get to the towere cause there was a fog wall. so yea. I figure I'll wait till the game isn't being played all that much so that I can at least try to get through the boss.

I only just started using summons, it's very rare that I played online with other players, so when I kinda got trapped in with another player I got pretty freaked out and literally hid in a corner until I could make a break for the Bonfire LOL

To prevent the thread "where everytime you visit, you have to make a post" from becoming a Dark Souls thread, let's discuss the two Souls game in here. And I'd say it's easiest if we used this thread for both games instead of having to jump between threads to talk about the series.

That's hilarious, Avá. It sounds like something I would do too. I should probably start summoning other players. I'm just so fearful of getting invaded is all. Getting invaded is such an awful, stressful experience that it puts me off asking for any help at all. Midnattblod, even when I figure out the moveset of some of these creatures, I still suck at killing them. I'd say that it's a combination of knowledge and more skill than I possess that will see you through the game. But, yes, you are right about knowledge being a vital component. And Firiath, I wouldn't feel too bad about how you've managed to get through Dark Souls 2 so far. If I wasn't so scared of being invaded all the time, I'd be playing the first one exactly the same way as you.

Oh, and Firiath, thanks for making this thread! I thought I'd practice being a mod and move some of the posts about Dark Souls 1 & 2 from the "Everytime you visit, you have to make a post!!" thread to here. And my apologies to Firi; even though she created this thread and made the first post, due to the time stamps on the relocated posts, they now appear before hers. Gah. I'll get the hang of this stuff yet! Okay, as you were.

Thanks Tal for moving those posts. Thanks for thanking me! I'm not going to be playing any more Dark Souls until tomorrow. I still need to simmer down after last night's disappointing sesh.

yea I gotta get back into DS2 but for now I'm content playing random games. I'm sure I will eventually beat it. though if you consider it took me a couple of years to beat Metro 2033 I feel no need to rush myself. I will still enjoy the game as I go.

That's probably the best way to approach it. I mean, it's not like Dark Souls (and the sequel too, I'm assuming) have complex storylines that will be forgotten if you don't get back to them in a hurry. It means that you can safely go and play other games to clear your head without the need to start from scratch again because you've forgotten important details.

I also take breaks every once in a while, to cool down and play something easy for a change, like Skyrim. The Dragonborn DLC isn't the easiest bit of the game, but it's still easier than Dark Souls. Oh, and Firiath, thanks for making this thread!
