Every Friday night is "family movie night" in our house. Last night we watched "The Last Mimzy". The end made me cry...lol.

I never saw that movie, but it looks like one of those that could be a tear-jerker.

I watched Wake in Fright today. It's a classic of Australian cinema, and stars Donald Pleasence. I have no words for what I just saw...

Never heard of it Eph, but I'm intrigued now.

Never heard of it Eph, but I'm intrigued now. Be warned that there's an extended sequence towards the end where they go roo shooting. You may find that very upsetting. I did, but that was the point.

I watched Pompeii yesterday, which was a fun film, but really really predictable. Watched The Hunger Games afterwards - great film!

The first one. I can't wait to watch the sequel, though!

The first one. I can't wait to watch the sequel, though! Ah, I see! I rather liked the first one, which surprised me at the time. I was fully expecting to hate it. The second was even better!

I hated the first one haha. But I think that's also because I read all three books and hated the first book as well. Second was a bit better to me.

I remember you saying that you didn't love the last book either. Is that correct?
Still, it'd be interesting to see how the final installment plays out. I hope it builds on the first sequel quite nicely, because the sequel was amazing.
Gonna try rewatching Carrie on the weekend. Original. Not remake.

Have you read them? If so I don't recommend it. I understand why a lot of people like them, I mean hell, a lot of people liked the Twilight books. But as far as actual writing quality goes the books are pretty poor. The writing itself isn't much better than Twilight level writing.

I have a general rule that I follow when it comes to movies adapted from books in that I don't tend to read the books they're based on. I have so much stuff vying for my attention anyway that I figure I'd rather spend it either reading the books and then watching the films if I feel like it, or just seeing the films and skipping the books altogether. The only exception to this was the Harry Potter series. Once I'd seen the final film, I immediately went and read through all the books. I'm glad I did because J.K. Rowling is a brilliant writer.
