So, does anyone have any opinions about this upcoming movie? Personally, I'm really excited for it now that I know it's not a remake. I thought it was a bit lame to begin with because so many films are being remade and Star Wars was great as it was, yaknow? I'm really looking forward to following the progress of this movie and I think I'm going to be gagging for it to come out in '15!
Anyone else as stoked as I am?

Interesting fact, a whole new trilogy of star wars has been filmed for years now. They have all the footage already and are editing etc now. The studios have been trying to keep it under wraps for years now.

Seriously? If that's true, then that's amazing. I wonder why they'd do it that way?
I do, however, wonder at how true that is because they've been reporting that table read with some of the old and new actors together on IGN and sites like that... so I've no idea who to believe.
Having said all that, I am looking forward to the new films with a sense of cautious optimism. There are just so many ways this can go horribly wrong (if the prequels are anything to go by), but with Abrams at the helm there is a chance that things could go very very well. I'm at least curious to see the results anyway. Let's say that.

Strange that he would sell Lucasfilm during the process of this... Sorry, but I don't believe it. I'm not saying you're lying. I'm just saying that I don't believe that's true.

Fair enough. I found it hard to believe too, but I ended up believing it because of the person who told me. It was one of my teachers at school who works in the movie business and knows more about films than anyone that I've ever met. He told my whole class two years ago haha. In one of our scriptwriting classes.

Then why this pretense with "revealing the cast"? Why film a new trilogy, while it's already been filmed. Doesn't make any sense.

I think it's just about them knowing way in advance what they were going to do with it. Even before Disney bought them and everything. The public only knows so much of what's going on, and the bigwigs choose to reveal what information and when. Feed it to us whenever they want. I think there's a lot more going on behind the scenes than most people guess.

Well yeah, but the whole trilogy (and we're talking about the whole trilogy, not just one film) being filmed with a different cast. No Luke, Han and Leia since they had to slim down for the film. They're going to upset a lot of fans with such a film. And these days you wouldn't keep such a thing under wraps. Not a complete trilogy. There's things you can keep secrets like characters, a storyline. But the creation of a whole trilogy while barely anyone knew, not even the media. I'll believe it when I see it.

Thrawn Trilogy (with new actors) 35.22% 56 NJO (condensed into three films) 8.18% 13 NJO (another 6 part series?) 4.4% 7 Dark Nest (original actors) 1.89% 3 FotJ (original actors) 1.26% 2 Old Republic Era 8.81% 14 Original content 40.25% 64 so people are split over thrawn or completely new content.
