I'm not entirely sure this qualifies as a sitcom but did anyone ever watch M*A*S*H ?
My parents were nuts for this when we were kids and back then there wasn't exactly a whole lot of choice in channels, not like there is today. We ended up watching the whole series. Maybe it's just childhood nostalgia for me, but I have fond memories of this series.

It doesn't specify that the situation must always be a domestic one which is what the vast majority of sitcoms have become. When you keep the definition in mind though, then you realise that things like Red Dwarf and Futurama are actually sitcoms too. I think I'd love M*A*S*H a whole lot more if I hadn't seen every damn episode a hundred times growing up. The networks here would have it on repeat, ad nauseum, every day of the year! It seems that familiarity really can breed contempt in some cases. Ha ha! Having said that, while I cannot stand to watch it ever again, I will happily concede that it is a quality sitcom and deserves its place within the pantheon of greatest sitcoms ever.

I used to watch M*A*S*H when I was in middle school because it was on after school, when I was a child I would always skip it. It was definitely something I learned to appreciate as I got older.

I watched MASH a lot when I was young. Used to be on TV all the time and I enjoyed it quite a lot.

I think the dramatic aspects of MASH escaped me a lot of the time when I was kid. I can now appreciate them when I see re-runs though. MASH was really well done.

One of my favourite ever sitcoms was an Australian one called The Adventures of Lano and Woodley. It had a sublime mix of goofy, character driven comedy mixed with physical slapstick and absurdist sight gags. I loved it. It reminded me a little of The Goodies at times.

That's because no one knows Aussie show's except for Aussies, and sometimes the British.

I've never heard of that particular show before. Yup, it's probably not even remembered by most Aussies any more either. It was hugely popular when it first aired though (from 1997-1999 on the ABC). It went 2 seasons for a total of 13 episodes. I wish they'd made more, but at least they went out on a high. That's because no one knows Aussie show's except for Aussies, and sometimes the British. Sadly, this is true. It was apparently also fairly popular on its first run in the UK which is why a second season was commissioned.
