Has anyone here been to any cool gaming expo's? I go to a lot of general comic book/ pop culture expos, but last year I went to my very first gaming focused one, which was PaxAus. PAX was so much fun, and I already have tickets for this year as well. It's a dream of mine to one day go to E3, but that's REALLY hard to get into.

I have not yet gone to any but I do want to hit up the big 4. PAX, E3, GAMESCON, and TGS.

Went to PAX East in... 2010 and 2011, I think? Something like that. They're actually pretty cool if you're interested in game development, which I was at the time, so I went to a bunch of panels and the like. Now I'd rather try to get to a TI someday but who knows if that'll ever happen.

Nope, never been to one, but I'd like to. PAX sounds much more doable than E3 though. But I thought E3 was only for those in the industry?

E3 is only for those in the industry, that's why I said REALLY hard to get into haha. Not impossible though, it can happen if you are a game writer for a website or publication of some sort.

Prime (the one in Seattle) sells out in a matter of hours. When I was thinking about going, the only way I'd have been able to go would've been to take my friend's media pass (he's an Argentinian game reviewer) but I was scared of being caught, lol.

I went to the Gamescom in 2010/11 (not sure which one), but I didn't really like it. Mainly because I don't like masses of people (especially not on hot summer days) and I couldn't understand why people would spend hours standing in a line to play something for a couple of minutes. Sometimes I think I'd love to go there again, though, to meet people who share my enthusiasm for games, but I'm way too socially awkward to do this. D:

I do get what you mean, Firiath. I'm not a fan of massive crowds either, and am socially awkward even when I'm on my own, so going to such an event would be a challenge for me too. And, you bring up a good point about standing in huge lines just to play something for a few minutes... yeah, I think I'd rather just wait until the game releases. Much less stressful!

Holy carp, that's awesome! Maybe I could just leave my social awkwardness at the door?
The huge jenga blocks thing and connect four thingy are way cool.

I would hate the crowd but love it too cause everyone there is into the same sort of stuff you are for the most part.
