I'm hoping before it happens that I can just talk my bf into going to the court house... but he's really well loved around my home town (so I am, as much as I hate it lol) so there'd be a lot of outrage from our town and our families (except my mom, she'd be on my side lol) if we didn't have a wedding. I'd like to take his last name... I just really REALLY don't want a wedding -.-

Despite this potential outrage (or the drama, in my case) I think you and your bf should do what you think is right. And as long as one of you doesn't want to marry, or marry in a certain way, you shouldn't let anyone push you into it. But I'm sure it's unnecessary for me to say this - and I'm pretty much just transferring my situation and my point of view to yours, so let me stop here

lol, I'm not too worried about it. If it's still his dream by the time we're engaged, we'll do it. Compromising is key to a successful relationship, so we'll meet somewhere in the middle I'm sure. I'd be down if it were a themed wedding, and we've talked about doing a GoT or a Doctor Who style wedding before, even Lord of the Rings, so maybe I'll get lucky

Yeah! Play dress ups for your wedding! I wish we'd done that at mine! I would have been happier just eloping, but it was important to let wifey have her beautiful wedding, and that made me happy too.
