Ok,so...imagine that you're gonna be alone with 3-4 friends from the weekend. No parents,no siblings.Just you and 3 or 4 friends.
You start on Friday night, but the weather soon goes bad. There's a heavy storm outside that will last 3 days.So you're gonna be spending the weekend inside the house. On Saturday, power goes out for 5 hours after it gets dark.
So how would you spend this weekend? What would you do?Just you and your friends, isolated in the house with a heavy storm and rain outside.

What sort of friends are we talking about? If guys were included I think we'd all play D&D or watch movies or something. I'd be much more civilised. If they were lady-friends of mine only, things could get a lot more wild....lol.

hell me and my buddies would be standing outside grilling lol. either that or we would all have our respective handheld consoles out playing games and talking about random stuff. and with no parents I know 1 or 2 would be smoking.

Everyone write a ghost story! Oh wait. That's what Mary Shelley, Percy Shelley, John William Polidori, and Lord Byron did back in 1816. No, seriously. First we'd probably spend our time watching films and playing games. Mostly watching films, though, as I don't have that many friends that play video games. However, things would get complicated/interesting when the power goes out. Luckily, I always have candles around (but only one candleholder for the kind of candles I have!) So, as the atmosphere would be really gloomy, telling ghost stories isn't such a bad idea. Unfortunately I'm incredibly uncreative, so I'd have no idea what story to tell, or what to do otherwise.

I'd probably sit in the dark by myself watching everyone else get along famously, and then wander off somewhere when the power goes out.

Firiath's reply is the best so far,the kinda reply I wanted to hear sjfaerlind what kinda games and stuff would you play if you were with your girlfriends, like a pyjama party? Ummm...noooo. The last time I hung out with some lady-friends was last summer. My hubby's best friend threw a "red-neck party" one weekend so we all dressed up as "rednecks" and descended on their house. We let our kids run wild for the evening (ie: the "let-them-sleep- where-they-collectively-fall" strategy). The men ended up in the garage and most of the ladies were hanging out around the firepit in the backyard. The conversations we ladies ended up having belong in the NSFW section so I'm sure not going to post the gist of them. Needless to say they were hilarious though! There is a lot of humorous stuff that comes out of being married (or the common-law equivalent) and being a parent. If I were stuck in a house during a power outage with a bunch of my friends, we'd probably capitalize on that and laugh our butts off about that stuff. Other fun stuff we've done in similar circumstances with other couples: We play euchre. Euchre is a strategy-based card game that you play with a partner. My husband plays what he calls "chaos theory euchre": a strategy that is really quite terrifying to behold if one happens to be his partner. When we get together with his brother and his wife, we play women against men...just so my sister-in-law and I can kick their chaos theory butts. Board Games: are a fast-disappearing source of fun, being replaced by computer games these days. Computers don't work when the lights go out though..... If the lights are still on I gotta say that it is hilarious to watch people play Wii Dance too.

I love to play board games and I'm a huge gamer in the sense that I'm always either playing games or planning out my playthrough for whatever game is on the way. but board games are still a lot of fun if you're playing with the right people.

Did that pretty recently, went up to my summerhouse during the winter a couple of months ago. In a snow storm, we had no heating etc. We just chilled out, watched movies (charged the stuff in the car.) and ate good food in front of a fire.

Firiath's reply is the best so far,the kinda reply I wanted to hear Haha, thanks! I told my s.o. about this thread and my response, because we're both students/scholars of English literature and the association with Shelley etc seemed so obvious to me. He said he was picturing me saying this: That sounds really cool! Apart from the lack of heating maybe, but still, in theory this sounds like a couple of awesome days!

Sitting around a fire is awesome. In winter, nothing is quite as nice as a wood-burning fire to warm up by.

We just pulled out the bed and had it close to the fireplace. Loads of pillows, blankets etc. Loved it. and SJ you are completely right. Who doesn't love a good fire when its winter.

^^Yup! We have a woodstove in the basement and it cranks out wonderful heat when it's going. It's awesome when you can see the fire too though. The flames are really cool to watch when you turn out the lights.
