Pixar's Finding Nemo is one of the world's most loved films. I think to this day it has the record for most DVD's sold. A sequel has been announced which will focus on everyone's favourite character Dory. I'm excited for this but we all know sequels can go really badly. It's a huge risk they are taking. But Pixar have been known to make some good sequels. Toy Story 2 and 3 were both amazing, and they were never planned when they made the first film, but added on later. I'm hoping this will be good, it is a huge risk and makes me a big nervous though.

I must be one of the only people on the face of the planet that was underwhelmed by Finding Nemo. Don't get me wrong, it was a well made film (as most Pixar flicks are), but it just wasn't my cup of tea. As such, I'm not finding the prospect of a sequel to be an enticing one. What was it that you loved so much about the first, Crouton?

I always get emotional watching the first. It's one of my very favourite Pixar film. I think it's the perfect balance between comedy and tragedy. When it's funny, it's really funny, and it's not that type of cheesy comedy you often see in these types of animated films. And when it's sad, you'll shed a tear. I think it has important messages, and I think everything is executed perfectly. From the amazing and under-appreciated score, to the messages about over-fishing etc. I get chills in several scenes of this film every single time I watch it.

What do you mean like that? Do you mean family movies? Computer animated movies? Movies about fish?

children's movies so to speak. pixar movies in general. I don't know I was searching for a way to say it but couldn't come up with anything. Generally children's movies are different to family films. Children's movies are those aimed just at children. You know, things like a Bob the Builder movie or Dora The Explorer. Films like Finding Nemo are classed as family films as they are made for all age groups. Pixar have stated many times that they don't make movies for kids, they make movies that they want to see, and they are all adults. Obviously they are child-friendly (although they are known for taking risks when it comes to this) but in the end they are made with adults in mind as well. To me this is why they don't really belong in a children film category but instead the family film one. I'm 22 years old and I've been to screenings of Pixar films at the cinema when I've been the youngest one in an almost full theatre.

true. I will admit the Toy Story films were some of my favorite movies, but Finding Nemo was one of those films that just never interested me.
I meant to say more but my brain doesn't want to work for some reason. it might be because it's hotter then heck in my room.

No worries, I tend to go a bit overboard when talking about Pixar anyway, since I am so passionate about them.

I've enjoyed most of the Pixar films, including Finding Nemo. I'll wait for the sequel to either come out on DVD or come out on Netflix before I see it though.

The only Pixar films I don't enjoy are Cars and Cars 2. I think almost everyone doesn't enjoy those. To this day those two films confused diehard Pixar fans as to why they made them, and why they got a sequel.
