Speaking of favorite movies...like I said in the games thread about a dream coming true, although I love A LOT of movies, there are 2 that are equally my favorite. And trust me,I do love many good movies.
So here's one of them, which I think is relatively uknown in the American audience, since it's a French production.
For me it has everything: Great acting, great characters, very good plot, great lines, fantastic costumes, action, love, sex, drama,a tiny bit of fear for some and a very good soundtrack.Oh and the length is very good too.
If you decide to watch it though, only watch it in French with english(or other)subtitles.
The year is 1765 and the movie is based on the legend of the Beast of Gevaudan.More than 100 victims mostly women and children.Something is causing chaos in rural France and the king sends two men to investigate the matter: Chevalier Gregoire de Fronsac,a naturalist of the Royal Gardens and his "servant",actually his best friend,Mani,a mysterious exotic Iroqois indian.
The movie was written and directed by Christoph Gans, the director of the Silent Hill movie who also made the 2014 "Beauty and the Beast" film.
Anyway,here's the original French trailer!

The plotline sounds familiar Foin... have there been other films made of this story?

About the legend of the Beast of Gevaudan I think there have been some French TV series and/or other movies, but not like this one.
