It's officially winter in Australia! And I'm... sitting in my room in a t-shirt with my window opening and still feel a little warm.. Sigh. Hopefully we might actually get some form of "real" winter soon. I usually enjoy winter, but so far this year Autumn has been way warmer than usual and winter so far isn't cold at all. Is it global warming? Who knows. Either way it's annoying, I want to bring out my winter clothes!
What is everyone here's thoughts on winter? Do you love it or hate it? I love it, but our winters are hardly ever freezing cold, just "slightly cold". I don't know how I'd cope in one of those countries where it actually gets super cold.

I like winter. The snow, the cold and the dark. For a while. We have lots of it and sometimes it gets cold. I got nasty frost damage one year when it was -35C. But the snow is amazing, this winter we hooked up a sledge to the back of my car and my boyfriend got to have a sledge ride whilst I was driving on our snowy roads. Some years we get too much snow and our roofs starts to cave in, unless we go up on the roofs and shovel snow. Haha!

Winters are great for hot showers and warm beds. I like that about them. I wish it snowed where I am but it never does. I'd have to move south for that.
As for if I love 'em... well, not really, but I think they're a hell of a lot better than our summers. Summers are awful, hot, and sticky.

Haha, I live south and it hardly snows here either, only in one or two tiny places in the state, and even they have winters where they don't see much snow.
Does it even get cold in Queensland in the winter Eph? I thought it was hot all the time up there.

It does get fairly cold at night, but not usually to the extent that one needs a doonah or something... just a light blanket or two. We've only ever had a handful of bitterly cold days up here, so they're quite rare.

It's officially winter in Australia! If you hadn't added "in Australia" I would have accused you of lying. My northern hemisphere arrogance forces me to say it's clearly summer, judging from the heat and humidity over here.

I hate winter. It's freezing cold, miserable, and sure, snow is pretty but as soon as cars start driving through it, it's slush and dirt and just gross. Winter is pretty much the worst time for me.

I'm beginning to think it's a myth.

Haha, this is like Narnia, but instead of being stuck in 100 years of winter we are stuck in an eternal Summer.

Makes the phrase "Winter is coming" seem like the taunting words of a child. Ha ha.

I am not the biggest fan of winter only because I am the one who gets to shovel all the snow from the driveway. and as Liv said, once the cars start driving around all the snow along the edge of the road gets a nasty black look. I'm more of a fan of Spring and Autumn. not too hot but not too cold, just perfect.
