www.inquisitr.com/1286981/man-trademarks-pi-internet-furious/so some Douche (Good old U.S of A) decides to trademark Pi, then issues, well, you can read the story... on the bright side apparently he's been using Star Wars lettering, so Disney may chew him up and spit him out. oh, and he has a trademark pending for I<3

So, what; is he going to sue for a profit of ever math book solid with the symbol in it? If I write it on my school work; am i infringing copy right??
I get copy write laws for things people make, like artist who want to sell their art and make a living and authors.
But seriously? Thats like twitter trying to copy right hash tag when its a freaking pound symbol.

well, it's done. but if i remember right, didn't a football team over there trademark a fleur de lis and then try suing everyone that used it?

from memory (based on news over here so may be way off) the judge ruled that the NFL owned the symbol used by the team, not the fleur de lis

If the symbol is a fleur de lis; how do you trade mark the symbol and not it?
