I did find it kind of funny when they were introducing the Zelda open world idea. And they said "we couldn't create an open world like this in the past". I couldn't help but think "then why have their been so many open-world games from other devs for many years now" haha. These are awesome, especially Zelda, but you forgot the Sims 4. Maybe it would be harder to an open world type game for the Wii or 3DS... or maybe just for Zelda... I don't know, they probably had some good excuse reason I'm excited for it though, as I get excited for every zelda game Also, you forgot Sims 4, Cascador. *shakes finger at you*

I'm disappointed that Ubisoft cancelled a playable female character in Assassin's Creed Unity. I think many people were looking forward to that, and MANY people are angry that you can't play as one anymore. It's also ironic since it's set in the French Revolution, and one of the most known assassin's and important historical figures to actually come out of that time was a woman. Yet once again in the co-op you can only choose from four white dudes who all look almost identical. People often say "no you can't put women in or black people in or other people of colour because it's not accurate to the setting or time period". In this case having a female assassin is actually 100% accurate yet they still didn't do it.

No, you can't put a person of colour or a woman into a video game like that because it wouldn't appease the target audience. It's all a bunch of BS if you ask me... also, none of it is going to be historically accurate because it's a video game based on weird hooky time travel-esque stuff, which isn't realistic in the first place. Would it kill them, or their ratings, to expand a little?

Well, it's never going to be exactly historically accurate, these are fictional characters, but AC have always put a lot of effort into making all the characters and stories, visuals etc suite the time period. And female assassin's just happen to perfectly represent the french revolution. I'm also sick of people pointing to Assassin's Creed Liberation, saying "Look, Ubisoft aren't that bad, they made a game with a black female lead!". Yes, they did, and that was amazing. But just because they did it once doesn't mean it automatically excuses them from ever doing it again. It should be the opposite, Liberation should have been the start of more playable female characters in the AC world, not the end of it.
The problem with target audience is that it's SO broad, most girls I know have played and liked at least one AC game, the target audience isn't as narrow as Ubisoft seems to think it is. They need to wake up and realise this. A huge percentage of their fans are female, that's clear almost everywhere you go, from the internet to conventions.

Also, you forgot Sims 4, Cascador. *shakes finger at you* It's because during E3, I traveled to Scotland. So during my journey I had of course nothing at my disposal to post more trailers.

Their excuses have been a treat, they are just walking into all the same mistakes of the industry but with a megaphone in hand. Hopefully this will rattle people or Ubisoft enough. Diversity in games means better writing, better writing is good across the board. Even I a cis white male have trouble identifying with these protagonists if they are all just Shadow the Hedgehog vs. Batman.

Yes I did read their press release, it was weak at best. They had nothing to hide behind so they were just rambling on.
