So; have any of you ever read a book or a book series and just felt let down, like you wiasted your time or just plan old disappointment at the end of it?
I have.

I read the Golden Compass books. The first one was epic; it swept me away. The second one scooped me up and took me further; I loved it. Then the third one. Ahhh the third one left me feeling so..... pointless. I mean we have this epic story, spanning worlds; challenging the existences of God. There is all this build up about her uncle mounting a war to kill God then the world is starting to come to an end; and how is it all saved? Two tween's get it on. I mean seriously? I felt cheated. I felt like the author just got lazy or realized they did not know how to write a war scene. I was so geared up for all this action that had been building for two whole books and then tween's just have sex and it all ends??? COME ON. I had begged my boyfriend for a week to let me barrow that book becuase he was so protective of that serious and had not yet read that one himself and I gave it back and he was like "how was it"; what do I say? I was so excited when he finally said I could read it and he was going to read it soon...... I jsut sat there stairing at it in my aunt's living room being like "ok, moe pages have to magically appear' or something.
If someone has read this and has a better take on it then me; please help. It still drives me nuts. I love the first two books; I want to reread them at some point; but then I just remember how it ends and I feel so sad and just go 'but the end..... the end of it all... it just murders its self.'
