Has anyone seen this? I saw it last week and enjoyed it heaps. It's nothing new really, a lot of these superhero films are similar now, but the inclusion of lots of Black Widow in this one made me enjoy it a lot more. I also loved Widow and the Cap being a bit more down to Earth in this one. I love seeing them in normal clothes for about half the film too.

I think it built on the story of the first Captain America quite nicely actually. It's a solid story, and one of the better superhero films out there right now. I had wondered where they could possibly go with the Captain America character, but they did it.

I liked this Captain America a lot more than the first one. I actually didn't love the first one that much, but I loved this one. And yeah they did expand on his character well, as well as Black Widow's character. Hopefully the fact that she had a big role in this means that her fabled solo film might actually be happening.

Well, if anyone can make it happen, it would be Marvel Studios. They seem willing to take some risks with the kinds of films they'll make.

Hopefully, DC keep canning a Wonder Woman film, and as far as superhero films go with a female lead we have... none really. Only a couple of small or crappy ones from years ago.

Now, see a Wonder Woman film is what I'd pay to go and see. Even though I'm not generally into superheroes, I do love that character. All they need to do is cast a lead that's suitably Amazonian in stature (and has the acting chops of course), and get a great director with an eye for a well written, character driven script. I don't know why it has to be so difficult. I think they just don't want to take the risk personally.

Do you know any actresses that you think could take up the role?

I'm thinking perhaps Miracle Laurie from Dollhouse... ...or even Christina Hendricks with her hair dyed black. In fact, it's kind of hard to come up with any actresses other than these two who don't look like tall stick insects with basket balls for boobs, which is precisely what Wonder Woman ISN'T. You need someone with a real physicality about them that's a little sexy but also with a no nonsense "don't mess with me or I'll mess you up" vibe.

Yup...Wonder Woman needs to be an amazon for sure! I haven't seen the Captain America film but the trailers look pretty good.

Oh yeah, that's right... we're talking about Captain America: Winter Soldier, aren't we!
What did people think of the Winter Soldier himself?

He was pretty good, I loved his mask. And felt sorry for him which was different than the usual villain.

Yes, he certainly wasn't your typical moustache twirling, cardboard cutout villain, but then I'd expect no less from Marvel Studios. They do seem to be going out of their way to imbue even their villainous characters with some substance. I mean, look at what they've done with Loki so far. He's such an interesting, multifaceted character, I think.

That's what happens when a comic company makes a comic movie, you get all the goodness from the funny books in the years since it stopped being a fully kid's medium and everyone's surprised by what the comic fans have been eating up for years. I'm really curious to see what happens in the third one now, they really jumped a lot of the characters I would have expected to get right to a fairly recent story(okay it's a few years old now but still, there's a few Cap villains I was expecting before Winter Soldier).
My only complaint is that Batroc wasn't in nearly enough of the movie. I don't know what else he would have done(besides a longer fight scene to show how awesome he is) but I wanted more because I love that ridiculous bastard.
