I saw that Taliesin is watching Lost at the moment, and although this show might be considered as rather old, it might still be worth a discussion or two. Although the series finale was aired 4 years ago, try not to spoil too much for those who haven't watched it. Although I was obsessed with it during its first couple of seasons I lost interest after a while, so I've never seen the final season. :/

I think I'd need to rewatch the whole series again. There were just so many strands and characters that were woven into this story that it's hard to remember many specific details. I think the things that stood out for me were the polar bear and the black smoke monster. I remember snatches of other things but that's it!
What do you remember?

Kate being annoying, Locke turning slightly crazy, Desmond being gorgeous. My brother was rewatching the second or third season the last time I was at my parents' place, so there was always something Lost-y going on in the background, which is why I still remember quite a lot.

I followed Lost through all seasons, and it definitely didn't get any less confusing. I was young when I first started watching. (I'm 21, finale ended four years ago sooo...) I definitely will have to sit down and re-watch it all again, which I would have no problem with, Sawyer? Anybody? No? YES.
It left a lot of open-ends though, considering all the characters and plot holes that came into it, and considering they filmed the series finale along with the Pilot, so I was pretty disappointed that a lot of my favorite characters didn't get the same "send-off" in a manner of speaking.

I didn't know that they'd filmed the finale with the pilot. I've never heard of anyone doing that before, so that's pretty cool actually.
I agree with you on the plot holes and things like that. I think the story became so convoluted that there was no way they were ever going to avoid them. Having said that, there was a richness of story telling and character development that you simply don't see in many other television shows, so I was willing to overlook the odd plot snafu here and there. It's a small price to pay for something as deeply layered and entertaining as Lost was, I think.
Oh, I just remembered something else. Jin and Sun's fate. I won't spoil it more than that. Suffice to say I actually cried when that happened.

I'm approaching the end of season 1 now and my hubby and I are hooked. So far the characters are amazing!!! Locke is turning into some kind of mystic I think and I'm intrigued with the little boy "Walt"...can't wait to see what happens with him. I think I want to slap Sawyer senseless.

You'll want to slap a lot of characters senseless by the end of it all, SJ.

I remember a bit but I don't remember if that actually was the end or not. I totally agree with the plot holes, just ads a kind of supernatural, mystic feel to the whole series and leaving some things open instead of answering absolutely everything. I honestly think if they'd answered all our questions in the show and wrapped it all up with a bow, we wouldn't be as interested - there wouldn't be as much to discuss and talk about.

Exactly, and at the end of the day isn't that what life is like? We don't have the answers to everything, and perhaps we never will. When writers allow that to be a thing in their stories, then oddly enough it makes the stories more believable to me. I know, weird.

Lost, believable? Are you out of your mind!? But nah I do totally get what you mean, if it was perfect then it wouldn't be as realistic. It's got a gritty sense of reality to the storylines and the characters that's rare in other TV shows. I find it fantastic that they managed to do this considering the Genre and the supernatural aspects of the show, which is why I think it'll become one of those shows that we'll remember for years to come

Well, it'll be a classic, that's for sure. I reckon it'll be studied in film courses in universities everywhere, which is testament to how good it is.

They'll probably re-make it in another 10 years, too, so we'll get to enjoy it all over again! Maybe Josh Holloway will be recast as Locke or Jacob or something Also, fun-fact, did you know that Sawyer was supposed to be a slick, smart business man but Josh Holloway massed up the auditions and the producers liked that better so changed the whole character to fit him?

Lucky guy! How many actors does that ever happen for? Probably not that many.
Looks like it worked out well though. He turned out to be just as interesting as all the other characters in that show.

How cool is that?!?!!?!? Kinda like Robin Williams with a lot of his roles. Well it ought to be interesting to see who I'll want to slap next.

Oh, it'll be quite a few people by the time you get to the last episode. It's that kind of show.
