I also really want to watch season 2 of Spice and Wolf. Wolf's Rain is one that I have been tempted to watch. I also heard that Kill la Kill is really good.

I haven't seen any Berserk but I've heard it is good. Attack on Titan was pretty good with intense brutal moments until it got boring, halted to a snail's pace, and just became a promo for the manga that doesn't end until like four years from now.

Lately I've been watching Jojo's Bizzare Adventure which is excellent but a but more out there. My all time favorites are Neon Genesis Evangelion, Serial Experiments Lain, Boogiepop Phantom, and Texhnolyze. Mostly science fiction stuff that is more dark and thematic.

Log Horizon is kinda midieval-ish but I wouldn't say it's very brutal. it is a great show and I'm now waiting for season 2. Bleach has it's moments if you can sit through all the filler episodes. plus that one is just crazy long. Sword Art Online had it's moments too but from what I've heard it's very hit and miss to some people. those are the only ones I could recommend right now.
