Out of the big two, which do you prefer, when it comes to characters, franchises, movies, stories etc. I know a lot of us probably prefer other label comics and indie comics over these, but I'm just focussing on these two for now.
I'm going for Marvel, because I love X-Men and Black Widow so much, and I find their movies more engaging a lot of the time. To me in DC only Batman really stands out. And I love Batman but I like a much larger number of characters in Marvel.
Also as far as comics I've read go, Marvel's Runaways is one of my faves.

I've never really been into superhero comics very much, so it's a little difficult for me to choose at all. I do, however, love what Marvel have done with their cinematic universe, so on that basis alone I'd have to choose them over DC. DC has made a good start with Man of Steel (which was amazing), so I will be interested to see how they follow that up.

Although I really enjoyed most of the Marvel films I think DC is a bit more interesting. Mainly because of Batman and Wonder Woman, I guess, but like Taliesin I've never really been into the comics, so I can only judge the two universes from the perspective of a superhero comic newbie.

That's fine, most of us can only judge from films/cartoons that we've seen. I've only read a small amount of the comics myself.

I prefer DC, but really I prefer DC's offshoot; Vertigo. I just never really was interested in Marvel, I guess. X-Men, Spiderman.. though, I will admit to thoroughly enjoying the Ironman, Thor, and Avengers movies. That really has nothing to do with Marvel though, and everything to do with the actors in them RDJ and Chris Hemsworth are two of my huge celebrity crushes.

I hear ya, I think I would have Liked Captain America 2 is Scarlett wasn't in it... but not a lot. Her having such a huge role changed it from an okay film to a great film to me haha.

I'll have to go with Marvel because I've always been a huge fan of X-Men.

DC has a lot more characters that interest me. Marvel has the better movies. DC had the better cartoons while I was growing up. Marvel has better toys and merchandising. It goes back and forth with me but I generally like the DC universe a lot more, and as Liv mentioned Vertigo is full of great stuff.
