Okay, so here's the thing...
I spent much of my youth watching cartoons on the idiot box. I remember being enthralled by the unusual looking characters, bright colour palettes, and exotic situations. It's something that's never left me and so I still enjoy cartoons today (albeit of a different type).
I was wondering what your favourite cartoons were as a child, and if they still hold up today when you watch them as an adult?
My first choice would have to be Kum-Kum, a Japanese series from 1975 that was dubbed into English and broadcast around the world. It was about a prehistoric cave boy who got up to all kinds of mischief. Unfortunately, all I can find to share here is part of the first episode in its original language. This should give you a taste of what it was like though.
I have managed to find all the episodes on a site somewhere and have been watching through them again. I think the English dub is not that great to be honest with you (they rarely were back then), but it in every other way measures up to the stuff that today's kids are watching. In fact, I would argue that it's better.
Okay, your turn!

Oh man where do I begin. Some of my favourite childhood cartoons were:
Sailor Moon Pokemon The Animals of Farthing Wood CatDog Angry Beavers Daria Rugrats The Wild Thornberries The Powerpuff Girls The Simpsons Rocko's Modern Life Hey Arnold etc
Those are cartoons I remember from when I was really young, but I also remembering enjoying a few when I got a bit older like:
The Fairly Odd Parents Spongebob Sqaurepants Fillmore Invader Zim Futurama etc
And obviously I have another list of cartoons I currently enjoy, but that should probably be another thread.

So, how do some of those cartoons hold up for you today, Crouton?

Most of them still very well.
I enjoy Daria even more today, because I understand all the adult humour and references that I didn't get back then. Same with Invader Zim. I still love Spongebob humour, and I watch The Powerpuff Girls from time to time. Shows like Rocko's Modern Life and Hey Arnold are even more amazing to me now.
I'd still easily watch most of those shows now.

hmmm... we used to watch: Voltron (loved it!) X-Men (loved that one too and I still do) He-Man and She-Ra Transformers GI Joe Hanna Barbera (Yogi Bear) Scooby Doo Warner Brothers: the Bugs Bunny show, Looney Tunes (loved these too) aannnnd I'm sure there's a bunch more that I can't recall at the moment. I have to laugh at Yogi Bear, Scooby Doo and those old Warner Brother's cartoons when I see them now. They look so old fashioned compared to what's on today.

Some great choices there, guys. And now I'm simply going to have to share this. Seriously, Crouton, Daria rocks. That holds up so well today. It's a genuine classic!
