For me there's nothing more relaxing than laying in bed reading a book, or having a warm bath. Those two things make me feel very relaxed and calm me down if I have been having a stressful day. I know a lot of people say gaming helps them unwind, but I find gaming can be almost stressful sometimes haha, I love it but to me it definitely isn't relaxing. What do you do to relax?

I hang out on the forums. I also like a warm bath or gardening/yard work.

Gaming mostly. If it's after a long day of work, I usually browse facebook, forums, reddit, and then start gaming. Sometimes I even add a beer or two in the mix.

Sleeping is literally the only thing that helps me to relax these days. I'm agitated about everything to the point where I don't always enjoy much of anything.

Reading a book is always a good way to start relaxing;t hen i get sucked into the book and it is anything but relaxing as I am so wired I can't sleep because I just have to know what happens next..... o.x
Currently i am spending my days off watching B movies; I.E. the original Godzilla movies, I have done the original and remakes of the Grudge and such; the original star trek series, the original Muppet series, .... While playing video games.

How do you watch movies and play video games at the same time?

Multitasking! listen to the whole movie; partly watch parts, fully watch others. Lets face it, no B movie needs someones absolute full attention.....

I'm terrible at that type of thing, I can only do one at a time. Game or movie.

Hahah. There's nothing more relaxing than getting a back and butt massage.
Other than that, nothing really makes me relaxed.

Hahah. There's nothing more relaxing than getting a back and butt massage. Other than that, nothing really makes me relaxed. Oh man, ear massage/ear cleaning. It's the shit. There's some kind of thing inside your ear and when it's triggered it's like a drug. The Japanese seem to know this better than anyone, they have hundreds of ear cleaning salons, where you pay like $30 to get your ears cleaned for 30 minutes by a trained cleaner. People underestimate how amazing it is. My girlfriend cleans my ears sometimes (because I beg her too) and it's like my whole body is melting into the bed and half the time I fall to sleep afterwards because it's a total state of relaxation.

I'm in the same boat as Taliesin these days. Even my hobbies just remind me of things that panic me, off hand remarks by friends get me self-conscious, sleep when I get it is like a clean mind sweep. If anything else maybe listening to music, but sometimes I attach music to memories and then it goes sour.

Psychology is pretty great, neuroscience and sociology especially for me. I've never been psychoanalyzed, I don't care to be either after how much I psychoanalyze myself.
Swimming is relaxing but I don't get around to it much despite living in Michigan, being surrounded by lakes. I'd do it as a social thing but people that I know have kind of aged past it.
Writing is a double edged thing, it either makes me feel really good or like the worst idiot ever. When I do it academically it is always hit or miss and when I do it for recreation I always get applause so I have no idea what I'm doing right or wrong.
I am actually working on a bigger writing project with some friends, if we band together to work it out and I can spill my guts for them maybe that will merge together to be fulfilling.
