I live in Australia. Game of Thrones doesn't even air here, and most of the US/UK shows we get are delayed by weeks or even months. So trust me I know that we don't all get shows at the same time, this is why I wait until I am personally up to date before I post in a thread to avoid spoilers, so everyone else can talk properly about it.
I see that this thread has been changed to a spoiler thread. I shall avoid it from now on.

We'll still be using spoiler tags, but if you haven't watched the latest episodes, I do highly suggest avoiding this thread just in case. Nothing worse than spoilers

Haha yeah I always avoid threads until I am completely up to date. I've never looked at one otherwise.

Did anyone catch last night's episode? It was about time we saw some action!

Yeah I saw the episode and I was pretty pleased even though almost no content from the books was in that episode. I don't mind them stretching the journey a bit. So the ending was nice. I was really thinking 'It's about time!' lol. But yeah I'm curious after the next episode. I think sh*t will hit the fan...

Shit is going to hit the fan on so many levels this season. It's so exciting lol. I'm glad they're throwing non-book content in there as well. It's a nice little change, not knowing what is going to happen and being just as confused as my boyfriend lol.

Too bad many book-readers don't see it that way. But you nailed it. The series makes changes so that you're still surprised. They're adding new twists to make it exciting for book-readers and I appreciate that intent. Now other changes I appreciate less. The House of the Undying for example. But I understand that the show is much more subtle when it comes to prophecies. Until this season there was barely any talk about Rhaegar and Lyanna. Now we get revealed more, maybe on intent. Maybe they are trying to prepare us for something that is coming in later seasons. But going back to the House of the Undying I understand that it's also for budget reasons that they couldn't throw in everything that happened in there.

I HATED what they did to with the House of the Undying. I understand budgeting, though. I also really wish that other bookreaders would just stop crying about the show changes. It's so annoying. "That's not how it really happened". No, because it never happened. None of it is real life, just enjoy the books, and enjoy the series, and look at them as two different entities. /endrant lol

None of it is real life, just enjoy the books, and enjoy the series, and look at them as two different entities. /endrant lol Exactly! Although I often wonder "Was that in the books?" or notice that something was different in the books, I don't mind any of the changes. Although I was also quite disappointed about the scene in the House of the Undying, there were so many other epic scenes in the series that weren't in the books, or were different, so I'm satisfied either way. Also, something about Bran's storyline, which I found rather boring until this episode, and I didn't like the idea of Bran and Jon meeting at all (because it was so different from the books? I don't know). But watching Jon and then deciding not to call out for him must have been really difficult for Bran, and I felt so incredibly sorry for him, although I had never cared that much about him before. Good job, I'd say.

How can you think Bran's storyline is boring? I guess in the show it's not as detailed or awesome as in the books. But the show is currently ahead of the books (I think, can't tell really because they've gone a different direction with his story). I just love the whole warg and greenseeing business. I wish they'd go into more detail about Jojen and Meera (sp), they're AWESOME in the books.

I wish Sansa would toughen up. Come on Love you've had a worse time than anyone surely you must be hardened to it now. She needs to kill someone.

Lol, she really does. It's just so pathetic when you look at Arya and then take a look at Sansa. I pity Sansa, but I have no love for her.

I do like her. When you start to realize that Arya is more tomboyish than Sansa you realize they have very different personalities and grew up very differently. Even in King's Landing after Ned's tragic death they get themselves into different situations. Arya is being helped by friends, she toughens up. She did have someone to count on and shows how cunning she can be from her experiences. But Sansa is constantly suppressed and barely has any support from anyone. Arya goes goes from being free to being a prisoner again, either in Harrenhal, by the brotherhood without banners or the Hound, but Sansa was in a constant prison and even now she is not entirely free and she'll realize that. But I think that realizes she has more freedom now and will use that to her advantage.

I want to see Sansa grow up. She's gone through a lot of tragedy and still is not even close to being mature about any of it. And Arya having friends and being a tomboy isn't an excuse enough for the difference in their behaviour/demeanor. They were both raised by the same people. Sansa is literally the only Stark child that still acts like a weeping, scared little kid. Though, we don't know where Rickon is so I guess I can't speak for him. I just don't like Sansa. I'm still reading the books though, and I wait dutifully for the day she goes through a transition that makes her turn into a respectable young woman, and not a sniveling child. At least she's not a huge brat anymore.
