This thread is about the fourth season of Game of Thrones. As always, use spoiler tags. When you post about an episode shortly after its release, please put a spoiler warning at the beginning of your post, as some of us aren't able to watch it when it's on TV. Of course there's a lot to discuss about this season, but all I want to say for now is how happy I am about Daario Naharis having been recast. I didn't like him that much in the books, and I really disliked him in season 3. In this season, however, he's turned out to be pretty cool, actually.

If you haven't seen seasons 1-3, stay out of this thread as well, because spoilers for S1-3 will be in here without needing a spoiler tag to accompany them.
I actually don't like the recast as much. Honestly, this guy looks too generic... I mean he's mildly attractive, but he really ought to sport the Tyroshi beard colours lol.

Well, at least he's got a beard, in comparison to the season-3-Daario! But you're right. I remember how disappointed I was when I saw that Daario didn't have a blue (?) beard. :/

Yeah it's blue (sometimes at least lol). I will say that I approve of the beard. But I think the old actor was more handsome. I haven't actually read far enough in the book to know, but someone spoiled a tiny detail about Daario for me, and I think he needs to be more attractive for that to happen lol. *cough* My favourite thing so far about the new season is the banter between Arya and the hound. S4 Ep 1 Spoiler: The bit where he and Arya killed Polliver in that inn was just too much. His lines about the chickens had Billy and I laughing for the rest of the episode and a good 20 minutes after it ended.

You were not the only ones reacting to that scene like that. It was so incredibly well written. And I'm really curious as to how close they'll stick to the story progression as it's written in the books. I'm not gonna explain what I mean, just in case you (or anyone else who reads this) haven't gotten that far in the book.

I'm in the middle of book four, so BOOK 4 SPOILER: I know that the Hound is currently either dead or hanging out with Lord Berric&Co. Or hell, he could be dead AND hanging out with them. I mean if stupid Cat Stark who I hate more than almost anyone else in the series gets to come back from the dead, why can't one of my favourite characters? . Since I'm not sure about that though, I'm kind of hoping that they prolongue whatever is going on there for a while lol

Watched the latest ep tonight. Pretty good.
Also what's the deal with spoilers in this forum? I avoided reading this thread until I was up to date so I could talk freely, and thought that's what everyone would be doing. But I see people talking about spoilers? Do we have to use them or can we just assume that if someone is posting in a thread for a particular season that they are up to date with it?

For big plot changes, like the spoilers in our previous posts, it is best to put them in Spoilers. Not everyone in the world gets their shows at the same time, or may not have caught all the way up on the show but still wants to discuss something from a previous episode in that season. It's only fair to add the tags simply not to spoil it for other people. I for one detest when something is spoiled for me and it genuinely can put me off even watching it.

Book spoilers DEFINITELY need to be tagged. I'm going to edit the posts and put a spoiler warning in the titles. I'm still going to use spoiler tags though to discuss major plotlines. It's basically just a courtesy, especially for season 4, since like Avá said, not everyone can watch them on time... plus I would get to see it WAY before the rest of you anyway... like last night's episode. Speaking of which, my boyfriend keeps complaining about boring scenes in this season. Last night he fell asleep during the bit where Margaery was talking to Tommen. Do you guys find this season to be a bit boring at all? I think that since (S4E2 SPOILER) Joff died in episode 2. it's been hard to live up to that scene. I mean, it was so climactic, so I think the problem is that people are expecting the entire season to be that "interesting".

Last episode's ending was so baffling for both Sullied and Unsullied... That was whole new territory and people don't really know what we saw.
