So, like it says on the tin. What are some of your favourite sitcoms and why?
I'll start it off with Black Books. I never get tired of this one. There were only 3 seasons, 18 episodes in total, and that's all there ever needs to be. It's a perfect little gem of a show.
For those of you who might be unfamiliar with it, it's basically about Bernard Black, a cranky Irish bookstore owner, and his two offsiders Manny and Fran. They get up to all kinds of weirdness and it's very funny! Check out some clips...

I never know what counts as a sitcom and what's just a comedy. So I'm just going to list shows that I think are sitcoms and hope for the best haha.
Black Books Spaced 30 Rock Kath and Kim Parks and Recreation

I would certainly count those as sitcoms, Crouton. What would be some of the things you like about the ones you've listed? Any favourite moments you'd care to share?

Ah that's a loaded question.
In the last ep of Parks and Rec my fave character Leslie Knope met one of her idols, Michelle Obama, and her reaction was priceless.

That's hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing, especially when she points out that her voice is getting louder!

Haha, yeah the initial "back away" makes me laugh everytime. And the end where she sort of attempts to touch her but just touches the air as Obama walks away is great. Leslie Knope is one of my TV heroes.

I totally agree on Seinfeld. It is one of, if not the best, sitcoms ever to come out of America. Check this out!

I can appreciate that, Midnattblod. I guess it's a good thing then that there are so many sitcoms out there to pick from now. There's bound to be something to be more to our taste than other things. I liked Big Bang Theory at one point too, but then they got really lazy about their writing for a certain character, and that really put me off the show for good (well, perhaps). It's a shame because overall I still think it's one of the better written American comedies currently screening.

I never liked The Big Bang Theory, right from the start, now if I see it on TV, or am in another room and hear it come on I always change the channel quickly. I don't even like seeing it on my screen haha.

Seinfeld is still played on TV every day here, lots of old repeats so I think I've seen every episode, some multiple times.
