There is a squeal too, but I never liked it as much as the first. They are based on a book. I think there is also a manga of it too.

never was one for mangas and comics. I'm more into either just reading or looking at pictures. I can do light novels from Japan though. mostly text with pictures dotted around the book. but now I'm getting off topic so I apologize and I will leave it at that. unfortunately I'm not the biggest movie watcher. I don't like to just sit there for hours watching a movie when I could be gaming or something like that.

Ah yeah, I know some people like that who also don't have a lot of patience for films. Do you tend to prefer TV shows since they are in small bursts?

honestly I just DVR the shows I want to stay up to date with and watch them at a later date while I eat something but I think I prefer TV shows as of late. there really aren't any good movies being released as of late. the Hobbit movies were even meh for me. most movies I own are nearing a decade old. I think the newest one in my library is Eastern Promises. unless the 3rd Underworld movie came out after that one did. I do have season 2 of Sekirei but that's an anime which equals a show.
on second thought I do have the newest Batman movie but I haven't watched it yet.

Yes, it's the Japanese movie set in a Dystopian future where a bunch of school aged kids are sent to an island, where they are forced to kill each other on reality TV until there is one winner left. Sound familiar? YES! That's the one! I saw it on SBS a few years ago, and I loved it! It was pretty wild and out there, and quite grim actually. I think it works very differently from The Hunger Games, and there's a lot to appreciate about both of them really. I would have to say that I favour Battle Royale though.

The last film I watched at home was "The World's End", which I found rather disappointing, considering it's a Simon Pegg film. :/ I found that and Paul to be quite disappointing actually. Quite simply, The World's End didn't make the high bar that Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz set, and Paul felt at times like thinly veiled atheist propaganda (which to me is just as insufferable as those Christian films that are no more than thinly veiled Bible tracts). True, Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead really raised the bar, probably much too high. I haven't watched Paul yet, but it sounds interesting. I'd love to see whether I see the same "atheist propaganda" in it!

I remember liking Paul, but At World's End was a bit dull to me too.

We recently watched Cloud Atlas. A very good and clever film.

I think World War Z was the last movie I watched at home. I couldn't sleep for 2 days afterward and nightmares for 2 weeks LOL

Really? I didn't know it was scary. I haven't seen it but really want to watch it.

I have a really weird phobia of zombies, and thought that because I was able to watch The Walking Dead with minimal nightmares that I'd be able to finally branch out and watch some other zombie TV/movies. Oh boy was I wrong. A lot of people say that World War Z wasn't scary, but it terrified me.

Oh fair enough. Zombies and monster movies don't scare me. But anything with ghosts/haunted houses/aliens (Sometimes), then I'm a whimpering mess. I seriously can't deal with any movie about a haunted house.

I don't like ghost stuff or zombie stuff. Ghost movies give me nightmares as well. World War Z isn't your typical zombie movie. These zombies are absolutely insane, and that's what terrified me the most. Most zombies you can hide from easily if necessary, but these zombies... ugh. *shudder*

I recently watched two Spanish horror films, REC and REC2. They were a found-footage type film about demon possession that took over an entire apartment block. Well they were sort of like zombies really. I really liked them. Some people say they are the scariest films they have ever seen. But The Blair Witch Project scared me more than they did.
